Drawing From Nature Week 3

On Wednesday we started off class by going to the park behind our school building. Our task was to draw something up close like a leaf for example. After we drew an up close picture we were supposed to draw the same thing but from a distance and after that task was came the landscape task. I realised that drawing from real life objects such as nature is not my thing but i do try my best. I found these tasks difficult because i'm very picky when it comes to drawing, if i don't like the way it looks then i'll either start over or give up. Something that i did enjoy was when we were using the Charcoal to draw the plants in simple shapes. I never used Charcoal before but after using it that day i would actually want to use it a whole lot more as i do my work. I think its just the way that it comes out pitch black and then makes it easy to make value with.

On Thursday ( today ) our task was to go outside to the park to find some leaves to draw. We were supposed to take our leaves and find a way to transform them into patterns. This was a difficult task to me because i didn't quite understand what we were supposed to do exactly. But i think that it was supposed to be something similar to this picture at the top of this paragraph. I'm not sure if what i did for the leaf pattern task is what was expected or meets the task but i can say that i enjoyed doing it. Drawing in a larger scale is difficult but it was fun painting it with the food coloring even if the colors started running out.
